Golden Langur

is a jazz trio that performs original

compositions, blending modern jazz, Latin American

music, and free improvisation. It consists of Gonçalo

Mortágua from Portugal on saxophone, Sam Simons

from Germany on piano and keyboards, and Minori

Shimayama from Japan on drums. All band members

are professional musicians who are active both

locally in Munich and internationally (for example

with bands such as Jembaa Groove, Embryo, Hodo

Gaia, Vandalisbin, and JJ Whitefield).

The band is active in Munich’s concert scene and has performed at venues such as Import Export and the Glockenbachwerkstatt. They are currently preparing the release of their new EP, which they recorded at Studio Zentrifuge in Berlin and which was mixed by Simon Popp and mastered by Christoph Stickel.
